Diary of a Curious Mind · 01

A circle and a line.

Every artist’s journey begins somewhere. And the more time you spend exploring yours, the more you realise it began long before you can remember.

My obsession with sacred geometry started when I was very young. I would draw the Flower of Life over and over, then take a ruler and connect the lines, finding all these shapes hiding inside it. At the time, that was the only thing I could draw. Give me a compass and a ruler, and I could keep going forever.

Little did I know that my journey had a long way to go. And that the compass and ruler were coming with me.

Today, sacred geometry is the foundation I return to whenever I design. Before the wax, before the metal, there is a circle and a line. Always the same circle and line, yet somehow I never run out of places they can take me.

What fascinates me is how I can look at nature, from the macro to the micro, and keep finding those familiar forms. I draw them, connect them, follow them. Sometimes I know what I’m making. Sometimes I have to let my hands find out.

For me, the circle is the beginning of life. The lines are all the possibilities the creator can make. And somewhere between the compass, the wax, and my little bench in Florence, I get to join in.

And thus begins the most beautiful dance of all. The dance with the spirit of creation.
